The Conrad Hotel Singapore is a luxury 5-star hotel located in the heart of Marina Bay, one of Singapore's most vibrant and iconic districts. The hotel is part of the Hilton hotel chain and offers guests luxurious accommodations and world-class amenities. The hotel 31 floors of guest rooms and suites, with award winning restaurants and bars.

Location

Its location is across from the Suntec city, which has a large multi-floor mall and food court. It is also near many of the city's top attractions, including the Marina Bay Sands complex, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore Flyer.

Check-in

I was greeted on arrival from door staff who took my passport and walked me across the beautiful grand lobby to the check in desk. Staff were friendly and keen to help. Whilst I was a few hours early for check-in and my room was not ready the receptionist was apologetic and offered to do their best to get me a room when available. I didn’t have to wait long, and a room was available within 30 minutes.

Room

The room was a Grand Deluxe King Room located on 17th floor. The room was modern, approximately 40sq m, with a large 43’’ tv. The bathroom was spacious with his & her sinks, and separate shower and large bath. I did enjoy the small touches such as a Conrad branded rubber duck in the bath and miniature branded bear on the bed. There was of course a large built-in wardrobe and mini-bar with tea and coffee facilities.

Food & Beverage

The poolside bar, with light meals was excellent. Whilst I didn’t eat in some of the exquisite restaurant options available on-site I did order room service for both breakfast and dinner. Both were delicious and the attention to detail when plating your food inside your room was exceptional. While the food options were not cheap, I would argue that the prices were relatively reasonable considering it was a 5-star hotel in Singapore.

Facilities

Gym

The gym was large with a wide choice of machine weights, treadmills, bikes and free weights. It was one of the fewer hotel gyms where I had ample choice of equipment. The gym also had a number of nice touches including a fresh fruit bowl, body composition analyser and cold hand towels in the fridge.

Pool

The pool is located on the 4th floor and has beautiful cabanas to one side and deck chairs with tables on the other. There is full service from the bar and restaurant located next to the pool. I tried the lobster roll which was delicious and not realising there was plenty of free water available I naively spend $12 on a bottle of water – lesson learned!

Conclusion

Overall, the hotel was excellent and found it hard to fault. It’s well located with staff that were more than obliging to my every need. And while it may sound trivial, I really enjoyed the small touches the cleaning staff did each day such as tidying my toiletries in the bathroom or rolling up my power cables by the side of my bed. On check-out the reception staff were again were overly accommodating to ensure my cab went to the right terminal whilst helping me to my cab. At $290 a night it was excellent value however the pricing can vary significantly so choose your dates carefully.
